The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), in collaboration with the Sindh Excise and Taxation Department, has rolled out an online biometric verification system for vehicle transfers. The new service enables buyers and sellers to verify their identities through their mobile phones, removing the need to visit NADRA registration centers.
Through this system, users can complete biometric verification using the Pak-ID mobile application. However, after successful verification, both parties must still visit the Sindh Excise office to finalize the remaining transfer documentation.
The initiative aims to enhance security by using digital identity authentication to verify the identities of both buyers and sellers. According to the Sindh Excise Department, the biometric verification requirement will be implemented gradually and will eventually become mandatory for all vehicle transfers.
How the System Works:
- Download the Pak-ID app on Android or iOS devices
- Use the phone’s camera for fingerprint scanning or facial recognition
- Complete biometric verification before visiting the excise office
This step is part of broader efforts to modernize vehicle registration and reduce fraud in ownership transfers.
